The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) Foundation recently received a grant from The EQUUS Foundation to provide two $5,000 scholarships to graduate-level students conducting equine research.

Two recipients of The EQUUS Foundation Research Fellows will be honored Dec. 3 during the AAEP’s 58thAnnual Convention in Anaheim, Calif. Introduced in 2011, The EQUUS Foundation Research Fellows support students who are pursuing significant equine research through a residency or graduate program. Each recipient will receive a $5,000 scholarship for their contributions to furthering equine research and discovery, along with a $500 travel stipend to attend the Annual Convention in Anaheim.

“The equine veterinary community continues to struggle to find those dedicated to careers in equine research, especially veterinarians seeking advanced degrees,” said AAEP Foundation Chairman C. Wayne McIlwraith, BVSc, Ph.D, DSc, FRCVS, Dipl. ACVS & ACVSMR.  “We can’t thank The EQUUS Foundation enough for supporting those pursuing careers in equine research.”
