Convention Keynote Speaker to Share Steps to Improve Client and Workplace Communication in Equine Practice

Equine veterinarians will learn to communicate more effectively with clients, co-workers and others they encounter in the profession during the keynote presentation at the American Association of Equine Practitioners’ 58^th Annual Convention.

Speaker Connie Dieken, a business communications consultant and former television anchorwoman, will train equine veterinarians to convey their messages in a way that will relate to clients and co-workers. Whether explaining a procedure to a client or collaborating with a colleague to make a diagnosis, equine veterinarians are challenged to communicate important and often complex information in their daily work environments. Dieken will identify three critical steps for achieving influential communication: connecting with the client, conveying a message and convincing the client to trust the information. Veterinarians will who attend will be more prepared to deliver concise messages that will prompt clients to listen, react and respond.

For more than 20 years, Dieken worked as a television news anchorwoman, reporter, broadcast personality, and talk show host. She is a multiple Emmy® award-winning and Telly® award-winning journalist and her excellence has led to her induction to the Radio/Television Broadcasters Hall of Fame. The 58^th Annual Convention will be held Dec. 1-5 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.
