Join Us as a Veterinary Intern at Animals in Motion!
Are you a veterinary student or recent graduate passionate about equine sports medicine and canine rehabilitation? Do you dream of working alongside a team that blends cutting-edge medicine with a heart for animal welfare? If so, we’d love to welcome you to Animals in Motion (AIM) for an unforgettable internship experience!
At AIM, we’re not your typical veterinary practice. Our specialty equine sports medicine and canine rehabilitation clinic is set on a beautiful property in Penngrove, CA shared with Rooster Run Foundation (RRF), a sanctuary for over 200 rescued animals, including horses, goats, pigs, sheep, chickens, and even a few charming roosters! Together, AIM and RRF are built on the philosophy of freedom, friends, and forage—a belief that all animals thrive when given space to be themselves, companionship to lean on, and nourishment for their bodies and spirits.
What You’ll Experience:
Diverse Cases & Hands-On Learning: From lameness evaluations and rehabilitation plans for elite equine athletes to mobility support and strengthening exercises for canine companions, you’ll have the chance to dive into specialty care under expert mentorship.
A True Team Environment: Join a supportive team of veterinary professionals who love to teach, learn, and grow together. You’ll feel valued and encouraged as you build your skills and confidence.
Animal Sanctuary Collaboration: Work alongside the team at Rooster Run Foundation, gaining unique insights into caring for a diverse group of rescue animals. You’ll experience the joy of giving back and witnessing the incredible resilience of animals given a second chance.
A Culture of Compassion: We believe that animals deserve to live their best lives, and we strive to create that reality every day. You’ll be part of a team where humor, empathy, and collaboration come first.
Who Should Apply?
We’re looking for someone who’s excited to jump in, get their hands dirty, and make a difference. Whether you’re passionate about veterinary medicine, curious about sanctuary work, or both, this internship is perfect for anyone ready to learn and grow. Bonus points if you love working outdoors and enjoy the company of a crowing rooster or two!
Why You’ll Love It Here:
A Gorgeous Setting: Our property is 20 acres set in beautiful Northern California
Unmatched Variety: No two days are the same. You’ll see everything from high-performance equines to spirited sanctuary goats—and every type of personality in between.
Freedom to Explore: We want you to discover what you’re most passionate about, and we’ll help you focus on those areas while giving you a well-rounded experience.
Ready to join us? We can’t wait to meet you and share in this adventure. Let’s make a difference together—for animals, their people, and our community.
Apply today and take the first step toward an internship filled with learning, laughter, and a whole lot of furry friends!
