This rotating internship position carries an emphasis in equine emergency and critical care, internal medicine, and surgery, rotating between Equine Soft Tissue, Equine Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Sports Medicine & Imaging, Emergency and Critical Care, and Food Animal Medicine & Surgery Services. Interns train under the supervision of licensed veterinary specialists who are board-certified in a specific discipline of veterinary medicine, as well as residents. Interns also participate in topic and patient rounds and will deliver one high quality seminar to colleagues in their academic department. Interns are encouraged to become involved in clinical research as opportunities and interests allow.

Interns rotate through an overnight Emergency & Critical Care rotation such that they are primary on-call for 2 weeks, with 24 hours off per week. Additional information about the internship program
All applicants must meet requirements for full licensure in Texas. These requirements include being either a graduate of an AVMA accredited College/School of Veterinary Medicine or having certification by the AVMA's Education Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) or the Program for the Assessment of Veterinary Education (PAVE). An applicant must have taken and passed the NBE and the CCT or the NAVLE prior to being eligible to take the State licensing examination. Documentation of successful completion of these requirements must be sent directly from the granting institution to the Authorized Administrative Official at Texas A&M University and received by the application deadline. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all requirements for application have been successfully completed by the application deadline. Transcripts must be sent from the final degree granting institution or institutions. Note that the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences cannot sponsor international visas, such as H-1B, H-3, or E-3 nonimmigrant employment categories. Matching candidates must be able to obtain a Texas license BEFORE the start of the internship.
