Equine or Mixed Animal Internship
We are a unique multi-doctor practice emphasizing top-tier medicine, personal advancement, and work-life balance with an equine veterinary team including a board-certified equine surgeon and three seasoned equine practitioners. Our primary focus is offering the highest level of preventative and sports medicine, but we also offer select surgical procedures, growing reproduction services, and complementary medicine including acupuncture. For interested applicants, we additionally have 3 small animal clinics and have the option to offer a mixed experience. The equine practice features fully equipped ambulatory vehicles as well as a haul-in facility with indoor arena, treatment room, and 6 stalls. Resources available include digital radiography and ultrasonography, shockwave therapy, 1M and 3M endoscopes, class 4 therapeutic laser, Prostride, Alpha2EQ, IRAP, Noltrex, Renovo, and PowerFloat dental equipment.
We aim to foster a collaborative practice and learning environment for all of our doctors and have weekly rounds to support advancement. The intern would begin rotating amongst all doctors in the practice to gain practical, hand-on experience and confidence with patient evaluation and diagnostics steps. As the individual progresses in learning, a gradual reduction in oversight would occur. The timeline for this will vary based on the individual. The ultimate goal is for the intern to feel comfortable taking primary case management for general wellness, sports medicine, and emergencies cases by the end of the year.
In addition to the noted base salary, additional benefits offered include healthcare coverage, CE and licensing/membership allowances, PLIT coverage, PTO, and discounted services for employee-owned pets. An associate position with the practice may be available pending successful completion of the internship year.
Applicants are encouraged to complete an externship with our practice. At minimum, an in-person interview is required. Interested individuals should send a cover letter and CV (including references) to ______.
