Petaluma Equine Sports Medicine and Surgery is seeking applicants for a one year, equine
hospital and ambulatory internship. Based in Sonoma County, about an hour North of San
Francisco, Petaluma Equine is a hospital-based group practice consisting of five veterinarians
including a board-certified surgeon as well as hospital and field technicians. The primary case load of the practice is

clinical setting. Weekly journal club and quarterly seminar presentations are structured into the
internship to encourage ongoing education. The internship position is designed to offer a
mixture of managing hospitalized cases, time in the field with the ambulatory
veterinarians in the practice, and independent learning evolving throughout the internship to include primary emergency care.
Applicants seeking a well-rounded internship which will prepare them for residency application
or private practice are encouraged to apply. Funding provided for CE, One day off per week and one weekend off per month as well as 6 days PTO is guaranteed. Housing is provided free of charge in a two bedroom, one bath apartment located on the second floor of the hospital with a private entrance.
