Brandon Equine practice offers a respectful, collaborative environment focused on client service and exemplary patient care, and with a strong belief in the team approach to care of our patients. Junior associates are provided a unique opportunity to see a wide variety of specialty and first opinion cases with all residency trained or boarded specialists. Case load includes wellness care, dentistry, a heavy sports medicine focus, routine elective surgeries, medicine cases, and a small volume of reproduction (foaling out mares and AI). First opinion and referral emergencies are varied but primarily include colic, colitis, acute neurological cases, pneumonia, esophageal obstruction, lacerations involving synovial structures, and fever of unknown origin. Junior associates are well supervised and supported but have the opportunity to take on progressively more case responsibility and see first opinion emergencies independently as the year progresses and based on their confidence level. The program is tailored to each individual and their goals. On call is limited to 50% and is always with direct or indirect supervision by a senior clinician depending on the case.
