Why do you want to serve on the board?
I am eager to serve on the AAEP Board of Directors to share my 25+ years of diverse experience in equine veterinary medicine, marketing, industry leadership, and professional service to the continued advancement of our profession. My background has equipped me to offer a broad perspective—from clinical practice to corporate leadership—on the challenges and opportunities facing equine practitioners today.
Through my tenure in equine clinical practice and subsequent career with the Equine Technical Services team at Zoetis, I understand both the day-to-day realities of veterinary practice and the strategic imperatives of industry innovation. I have built strong relationships across the equine ecosystem—veterinarians, clients, academic institutions, and industry partners—and I am enthusiastic about engaging with those connections to foster collaboration and drive meaningful progress.
My prior leadership roles with the AVMA Council on Education, the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates, and various local and national boards have equipped me with governance experience and a deep appreciation for the importance of thoughtful, inclusive leadership. I am particularly committed to supporting initiatives that enhance equine veterinary education, promote practitioner well-being, and ensure the long-term sustainability of equine practice.
Serving on the AAEP Board would be both an honor and an extension of my lifelong commitment to the equine veterinary profession. I am excited about this opportunity to give back, help shape the future of our field, and support equine veterinary colleagues in delivering the highest levels of care to the horses and clients we serve.
