Early pregnancy loss (EPL) conceptuses found to be aneuploid (loss or gain of whole chromosome) are highly likely to be nonviable. Given this condition is commonly associated with EPL, clinically treating compromised pregnancies with progesterone or progestins should be done with caution to avoid a delay in rebreeding.
