Service rotation description
| The interns rotate between three rotations every 2 weeks: hospital, ambulatory, and flex.  The hospital and flex intern share responsibility for in-patient case management, elective surgeries, and on-call responsibilities for hospitalized cases, emergency surgeries, and foal watch.  The ambulatory intern maintains on-call responsibility for farm-call afterhours emergencies and assisting with farm-calls during business hours. All interns will be paired with a senior clinician each day (and night/weekend) with direct supervision until proficiency and confidence is gained. At that point and with approval of the senior clinicians, interns will begin seeing and managing cases independently with indirect supervision as needed or deemed appropriate. |
