Comstock Equine Hospital offers a year-long rotating internship that focuses on general practice, emergencies, surgery, and anesthesia with exposure to reproduction, dentistry, radiology and practice management. Our interns receive hands on experience with case work up and procedures. Our interns rotate through the ambulatory service and hospital service. Each of our interns will have one week-day off every 2 weeks, and on call for the interns is split evenly. We have a board certified surgeon, 5 general practitioners, and approximately 20 support staff composed of licensed veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and front office staff. We pride ourselves on offering a cooperative learning environment for all of our doctors. Our interns often split time between Comstock Equine Hospital in Reno, NV and Great Basin Equine Hospital in Gardnerville, NV to get the most case exposure. Benefits include housing on site, professional and licensure fees, and emergency and production once they begin to see primary cases. We are located 30 minutes from beautiful Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Mountains. We encourage our interns to get out and explore the Biggest Little City and all it has to offer. Our goal is to help shape veterinarians who are well-rounded personally and professionally.
