Internship Type
Combined
Anoka Equine offers this internship opportunity to foster the professional growth of equine veterinarians through mentorship and hands on learning. We feel that providing a team approach of delivering high quality medicine to our equine patients and exceptional communication to our clients allows the intern to develop the skills necessary to be a successful equine practitioner. The variety of equine disciplines as well as the varied case load (both primary care and referral cases) will further prepare the intern for private practice or entry into a residency program.
The internship is for one year, from June 1st to May 31st. The intern is scheduled to work weekdays and every other weekend. The intern will be scheduled with a staff veterinarian and will see appointments both in the hospital and in the field. Upon readiness, the intern will see routine ambulatory calls on their own. These will include: preventative health, dentistry, lacerations, acute lameness, reproduction and colic workups. The intern will continue to see appointments and hospital cases at the clinic with a staff veterinarian. These will include but are not limited to: surgeries, endoscopic exams, advanced lameness exams, advanced dental work, internal medicine cases, neonatal care and advanced reproduction services. The intern will also learn and perform general anesthesia, rotating through the anesthesia duties with our CVTs.
Anoka Equine is also offering Off-Cycle Opportunities, inquire to learn more.
