Missouri Practitioner to Represent District VI on AAEP Board of Directors

The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) has inducted Kenton Morgan, DVM, DACT, a Missouri practitioner and equine veterinary specialist with Pfizer Animal Health, to represent District VI on its board of directors.

Dr. Morgan was introduced with fellow incoming board members during the Dec. 4 President’s Luncheon at the 58^th Annual Convention in Anaheim, Calif. His term will expire in 2015.

After receiving his veterinary degree in 1983 from the University of Missouri, Dr. Morgan practiced as a private ambulatory veterinarian in Missouri and Kansas for 11 years. Before transitioning to the pharmaceutical industry, he served as a resident veterinarian in Idaho. He became board certified in theriogenology in 1993, and is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association.

Since joining the AAEP in 1984, Dr. Morgan has chaired the Reproduction and the Biologics and Therapeutic Agents committees and served on the Drug Compounding Task Force. He currently serves on the Leadership Development Committee and the College of Veterinary Medicine Faculty Membership Task Force. Additionally, he has provided expertise on the topics of practice management, drug compounding and the prudent use of medication as a presenter at AAEP continuing education meetings.

The American Association of Equine Practitioners, headquartered in Lexington, Ky., was founded in 1954 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the health and welfare of the horse. Currently, the AAEP reaches more than 5 million horse owners through its nearly 10,000 members worldwide and is actively involved in ethics issues, practice management, research and continuing education in the equine veterinary profession and horse industry.
