
Effectively managing pain is an important and often challenging aspect of optimizing physical and mental wellbeing in athletic horses.
Join veteran performance horse practitioner and certified veterinary acupuncturist and massage therapist Dr. Lori Bidwell for a discussion of common medications available for pain management in the performance horse, along with some uncommon medications and therapeutic modalities. She will also address anti-doping regulations.
Meet Our Panelist
Dr. Bidwell is co-founder of East West Equine Sports Medicine, which provides veterinary services for hunter/jumper circuits on the East and West Coasts. Prior to starting her current practice, Dr. Bidwell served as head of anesthesia at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital and Lexington Equine Surgery and Sports Medicine. She also served on the veterinary faculty at Ross University and Michigan State University. Dr. Bidwell received her veterinary degree from Michigan State University and is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia.
