Q: Why do you want to serve on the board?
Because I love AAEP! AAEP has always felt like professional home to me, and I would be honored to serve the association and membership through a leadership role. As an educator and clinician, I am deeply committed to preparing the incoming generation for equine practice and supporting them with community and continuing education throughout their careers. As a lifelong lover of the horse, I am grateful every day for a career that allows me to contribute to their longevity and wellness by supporting all the amazing ways that horses and humanity intersect.
Q: What attributes would you bring to the board?
To the board I would bring qualities of organization, energy, and deep enthusiasm for veterinary medicine. I am passionate about equine healthcare and about modernizing equine practice to enable early career practitioners to be successful in both their professional and personal lives. While serving as the chair of the Infectious Disease Committee, I saw firsthand the impact of AAEP’s educational outreach and professional support on equine practitioners. My own experience in academic and private practice has given me a deep respect for practitioners everywhere and instilled in me a desire to create educational resources and opportunities to meet people where they are in all phases of their career.
