Our internship is designed to develop confident, capable equine veterinarians through a high-volume, hands-on clinical experience with strong mentorship and exposure to a broad range of cases. Interns work alongside experienced veterinarians and are given increasing responsibility as their skills, judgment, and confidence develop throughout the year.
Weatherford Equine offers exposure to referral-level medicine and surgery, sports medicine, ambulatory practice, reproduction, and general equine practice. Our team includes board-certified specialists in surgery and internal medicine, as well as veterinarians with extensive experience in sports medicine, reproduction, and ambulatory practice.
The goal is to provide interns with the clinical skills, case-management experience, and practical decision-making ability needed to succeed in private equine practice or to be highly competitive for residency training. We place a strong emphasis on mentorship while also giving interns the opportunity to become increasingly independent and comfortable managing real-world cases.
