EQUINE DISEASE NEWS

Vesicular stomatitis detected in five horses in Texas
Vesicular stomatitis (VS) has been detected in five horses in far
Southwest Texas (Kinney County). The newly identified infected
group of horses is currently under quarantine by the Texas Animal
Health Commision. There is no known exposure to other horses
around the state, or at any equine events. More .

 A progressive, full service equine clinic located 30 miles south of Boston is looking
for an enthusiastic and charismatic individual to expand the primary, emergency
and referral caseload. The practice ia an established 3+ doctor practice that
includes a board qualified surgeon, a board certified equine prac titioner, and a
certified veterinary acupuncturist with a large support staff. The clientele is diverse
and patients include sport and show horses of all disciplines, miniatures, pony
clubs, brood mares, seniors, draft breeds, and companion/backyard pleas ure
horses. Considerable time is spent on client educational materials and
presentations. The practice is dedicated to providing excellent customer service,
and this includes thorough patient evaluation, thoughtful communication, and
exceeding client expec tations both medically and with client service. Candidate
should be comfortable performing a thorough physical examination, lameness
evaluation, basic nerve and joint injections, performing x -ray imaging, basic
