OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS
 The Equine Specialty Hospital is seeking an internist. The hospital provides internal
medicine, surgical, diagnostic imaging, and rehabilitation services in a referral
setting to horses in northeast Ohio, western Pennsylvania and New York, and
southern Michigan. The hospital is equipped with a hoist for dynamic sling support,
separate neonatal intensive care unit, and isolation facilities for proper care of
critical medicine patients, and is staffed 24 hours per day. The hospital also has
two surgical suites, each with their own anesthesia induction/recovery
stall. Diagnostic equipment includes in-house bloodwork, MRI, CT scanner, nuclear
scintigraphy, endoscopes of 1, 1.9, and 3-meter length, and digital imaging
equipment. The rehabilitation center houses an AquaPacer treadmill, ShowReady
cold compression unit, and class IV Pegasus Therapy Laser. In addition to taking
daily appointments for internal medicine cases, the internist will share emergency
services with a board-certified surgeon. The internist will also be responsible for
admission of all neonatal foals. Board-certification in internal medicine is highly
preferred, but candidates with residency training in internal medicine will be
considered. The hospital is a referral hospital only, and does not provide
ambulatory services. Contact Melissa Milligan at (440) 834-0811 or
drmm@equinespecialtyhospital.com.
