Looking for a fun, energetic, hard working team player who is ready to put their newly found skills to the test with our group of skilled veterinarians, technicians, and support staff.
Central Washington Equine Hospital is a privately owned Equine practice located in Washington state. The 2022 completion of our 12,000 sq ft hospital in the heart of downtown Ellensburg has given us the opportunity to grow into a large, multi department practice. We provide expertise in the areas of surgery, sports medicine – lameness and soundness, advanced podiatry, reproduction, emergency, and general practice. Additionally CWEH is home to Lakeshore Equine Fitness and Rehabilitation which houses an aquatread, eurociser, solarium, and vibration plate.
Our two board certified surgeons combined bring over 50 years of surgical experience to our practice and find mentorship a rewarding and important part of what they do. While on the surgical rotation our interns are able to scrub into surgeries varying from a routine castration to complicated fracture repairs. During outpatient and ambulatory appointments they will take part in complicated lameness exams and it is our goal to get them to the point where they will perform nerve blocks and joint injections routinely. Our residency trained reproduction specialists will support the intern in learning all aspects of foal and mare care. The intern will also have exposure to embryo transfer (ICSI). Our interns are involved with most emergencies that come through out doors, getting to the point that the initial exam and plan is performed by them. Our team of support staff, which includes VTS (Ax), LVT, and VAs are there to help support the training of our intern’s technical skills. All of this is combined with mentorship around client communication, record keeping, and invoicing.
