Duration: 12 months

Qualifications

Candidates must have a D.V.M. or equivalent degree and ability to obtain a veterinary license to practice in the state of Kentucky.
Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
Candidates are required to have previous horse experience.

General Scope and Nature of Training

Interns will learn through experience as well as structured rounds and case discussions.
Interns will receive mentorship in reproductive cases, foal evaluation, general herd health, pre-purchase exams, lameness and sales related diagnostics.
Interns will develop an understanding of case management and client communications.
A primary objective of the internship year will be the development of clinical maturity and judgment with the intention of interns taking primary case responsibilities as the year progresses.
